Edwin Bautista is the President and CEO of Philippine National Bank (PNB). He is the former President and CEO of UnionBank of the Philiipnes, and is the Visionary Strategist and Chief Architect behind its phenomenal success as the Best Digital Bank of the Philiipines and the Asia Pacific. He has more than 25 years of experience winning international and regional accolades for his banking innovations and digital transformation breakthroughs. Since joining UnionBank in 1997 as Senior Vice President, he has driven the growth of the Bank’s Transaction Banking, Commercial Banking, Operations and Consumer Finance centers. Prior to UnionBank, Edwin headed Citibank’s Global Transaction Services Group and was a part of Procter & Gamble Philippines. In 2006, he served as President of IBank, until its merger with UnionBank.

As CEO of UnionBank, Edwin launched the bank’s Digital Transformation in 2015 with the first "selfie-banking" in Asia, the first "chatbot" in the country, and the first fully digital bank branch (called “The ARK”) in the Philippines. Under his sterling leadership, UnionBank won seven awards at The Asset Triple A Digital Awards, including “Digital Bank of the Year-Philippines” for four (4) straight years and the “Digital Banker of the Year Asia-Pacific” for his role as CEO of UnionBank. Edwin was also awarded the “Best Banking CEO” from the European Global Banking and Finance in 2018, and the “Best Banking CEO in Asia” from International Banker in 2018 and 2021.

Edwin Bautista is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program and received a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from De La Salle University.
